What vaccinations does my dog need to participate at Pet BnD ABQ?

Dogs Vaccinations Required:

1.Rabies

2.Distemper (DHLPP or DHPP)*

3.Bordatella (highly recommended)

All pets checking in to Pet BnD ABQ must be in good health up-to-date on all of their required vaccinations. Pets must also not have been exposed to any contagious or communicable diseases 30 days prior to their visit/stay.

Proof of vaccination is required for each pet and must be up to date*. You must provide each pet’s vaccination certificate as well as any other relevant information regarding your pet(s). Proof of vaccination must be submitted before the pet’s arrival at Pet BnD ABQ.

*Proof of vaccination must be from a veterinarian. Self-administered vaccinations are not accepted.

*While there is NO vaccine for Bordetella that will provide sterile immunity, vaccination still provides some protection from infection, and vaccinated dogs are expected to develop milder clinical signs if they do become infected. However, Some cases of kennel cough are caused by bacteria or viruses other than Bordetella bronchiseptica in which case the vaccine offers no protection. For these reasons, we cannot mandate this vaccine although we highly recommend it.

How do you ensure the safety and well-being of pets during their boarding stay?

The safety and well-being of your pet are our top priorities. Our staff is trained to provide attentive care, regular check-ins, and supervised playtime.

In addition, our strict sanitization policy includes daily disinfection of our Boarding & Daycare areas, playground equipment, and toys with non-toxic disinfectants proven to kill Bordetella. After each use, our staff washes and dries all blankets, bedding, and bed pads in our industrial washer and dryer, and suites are disinfected. Rest assured; every inch of PetBnD ABQ is sanitized.

Lastly, our unique indoor/outdoor setup maximizes airflow which confers additional protection against airborne pathogens.

What Do I Need to Bring For My Pets?

2. Medications:
Pack any medications your pet needs in their original packaging. Provide detailed instructions, including dosage and administration times.

3. Treats:
Bring your pet's favorite treats for rewards and positive reinforcement. Communicate any allergies or food restrictions your pet may have.

Food & Water Bowls - We provide food and water bowls for all pets.
Bedding - We provide bedding for each pet.
Toys & Chews - We provide engagement activity toys for each pet.

Digestive Upset: If a dog develops loose stools or digestive upset, we may temporarily adjust their diet to a gentle, easily digestible option to support their comfort. We will always notify you before making any dietary changes.

Additional care or dietary changes will always be discussed and approved in advance.

What types of activities are provided for pets during their boarding stay?

We offer a range of activities to keep your pet engaged and entertained. From individual play sessions in our outdoor areas to puzzle toys and interactive games, we ensure that your pet receives both physical exercise and mental stimulation throughout their stay.

Special Needs & Hospice Care

While we strive to provide excellent care, we are not equipped to accommodate pets with advanced medical or mobility needs, including those:

1. On hospice care or nearing the end of life
2. Unable to walk or requiring mobility assistance
3. Needing help with feeding, standing, or regular repositioning
4. Requiring assistance with using the bathroom or incontinence management
5. Requiring frequent medical intervention beyond standard medication administration

A kennel environment is not appropriate for pets who have had surgery in the last 14 days and still have stitches. Pets with stitches or injuries must wear a cone to prevent complications during their stay.
Pets will be assessed on a case by case basis.

For these cases, we recommend contacting a veterinary clinic or specialized pet care provider with the appropriate resources and expertise.

If you have questions or need recommendations, please call us, and our team will be happy to assist.
